The Management Consulting Team at Teneo

Our Management Consulting division focuses on answering key strategic questions for business and public-sector leaders through our mix of senior experience and rigorous analysis, combined with the unique expertise that exists across Teneo. We operate across a diverse array of sectors including Consumer Goods, Healthcare, Leisure & Hospitality, Software, Transport, and TMT, amongst others. Within these markets, we provide strategic, operational, and due diligence support, advising reputable FTSE 100 and Fortune 500 firms, key public-sector organisations, and leading private equity houses.  

Key Attributes

This role is key to supporting the significant growth ambitions for the Consulting business. Specifically focusing on supporting the Business Services practice and deals activity across Management Consulting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Business Development output production
    • Supporting the creation of project proposals in response to specific client briefs
      • Creation of proposal outlines using appropriate formatting and graphics
      • Summarising the context of the proposal and the approach proposed
      • Depicting the scope and activities on the basis of MD/SMD input
      • Detailing the activities, timeline, team, governance structure, dependencies required for the project
      • Calculating the proposed fees for an engagement based on the relevant staffing profile and project timeline
      • Selecting appropriate case studies to demonstrate Teneo’s capabilities
    • Supporting the creation of project proposals in response to specific client briefs
    • Reactive research and preparation activities for BD meetings and campaigns, to include target profiling and executive contact research
  • Practice development for Business Services
    • Scheduling and contributing to Business Services practice meetings – noting actions and decisions
    • Collation and development of sales and sector IP to support the creation of proposals:
      • Collating useful slides for re-use / re-purpose across different proposals
      • Managing the creation and sign-off of Business Services-related case studies
      • Updating introductory slides and sales collateral
      • Develops an awareness (evolving into deep expertise) of the different project types, approaches activities, deliverables, credentials, case studies and other corporate information required to respond to requests for credentials and proposal materials

  • Reporting relationships
    • Works with the Business Services Practice leadership to stay informed of the opportunity pipeline, understand priorities on a daily and weekly basis and is proactive in the support required, anticipating needs and plans ahead
  • Collaboration
    • Supports a learning culture and plays an active role in sharing knowledge and insight across the Business Development team
    • Acts as ambassador for Consulting and is able to explain our offer effectively

 

Key Skills & Experience

  • 2-3 years’ relevant work experience ideally within a Consulting environment
  • Excellent analytical skills and an entrepreneurial attitude
  • Excellent communication skills and creativity
  • Highly logical and numerate
  • Evidence of teamwork, leadership, and ambition, alongside relevant work experience
  • Degree Qualified (2.1 or above preferred) in any degree discipline
  • Operates at a fast pace demonstrating the ability to influence and challenge when needed.
  • Proactively takes on the challenge of unfamiliar tasks
  • Creates an immediate, positive, and credible impression on others
  • Ensures all reports, data and written work are correct in detail and without error
  • Can skilfully and confidently influence and negotiate and maintain a positive relationship with all parties during difficult conversations
  • Working knowledge of a major European language is an advantage but not required
